ABP Acquires John Pointon & Sons Protein Business

ABP Food Group's by-product division, Advanced Proteins, has announced the acquisition of John Pointon and Sons' animal by-products and proteins business.

The business, which is located in Staffordshire, on an 80-acre site, is the largest single site by-product and pet food ingredient supplier in the UK.

The family owned business, which has been in operation for over 40 years, has a capacity of 400,000 metric tonnes and employs over 200 people.

Advanced Proteins.

ABP food group has been involved in the animal by-products business for over 50 years. Advanced Proteins, its by-product division operates separately and independently from its fresh beef division.

Commenting on the announcement,  CEO of ABP Food Group, Frank Stephenson said, “We are pleased to welcome management and staff from John Pointon and Sons to ABP Food Group. It will be very much business as usual and we look forward to further developing and growing the business."
