Italian gluten-free producer Farmo and leading organic food manufacturer Alce Nero have formed a joint venture to produce organic bakery products.
The new partnership, Fan, will be based on 'the deep sharing of common values between the two partners', including R&D, protection of raw materials and agriculture, and commitment to organic produce, transparency, and the environment.
Company Expansion
Farmo has opened its third plant in Casorezzo, near Milan, which will also be Fan’s first production facility.
Extending over an area of 5,000 square metres, the €5 million plant will produce 20 different products, with a production capacity of 600kg per hour. The expected turnover is €6 million in the first year, however, this is due to double within two years.
Initially, production will be focused on sweet bakery products, but savoury ones will be added following the installation of new production lines. The main export markets are Japan, USA and Europe.
Farmo has two other plants - one is dedicated to the production of gluten-free bakery products and the mix of special gluten-free flours, while the second specialises in gluten-free pasta production.
