Unilever Spain has unveiled Antonio Casanova as its new Executive Vice President for the Spanish market, role that he will share with his current position at Unilever Jerónimo Martins, the joint venture that Unilever has in Portugal. Both companies will continue to report independent accounts.
As reported by granconsumo.tv, Casanova will succeed Jaime Aguilera, who was recently named executive vice president for Unilever in Central and Eastern Europe.
Born in Portugal, Casanova is a graduate in Economics from the London School of Economics and took charge of the company in Portugal in 2009. Previous professional experiences included Optimus/Orange, SonaeCom, Sonasierra and McKinsey.
Casanova's trajectory within Unilever has been notable for his efforts to promote food and personal hygiene products in Portugal during recent years.
"I'm aware of the achievements that Spain has reached regarding business in the last few years and I'm convinced that my role in Spain will allow us to identify opportunities and to share projects that will contribute to both countries continuing growing," he said.
