Dairy company Arla Foods has announced that it is launching its first branded organic milk in the Middle East, starting with the United Arab Emirates.
The company says that the UAE is its biggest strategic growth market outside Europe, and so this launch marks a 'significant milestone' in its agenda.
Arla says that it has plans to expand into Saudi Arabia and Kuwait in 2018, and is aiming for Arla Organic Milk to be the number one organic dairy brand in the Middle East and North Africa by 2020.
Growing Appetite
“We see a growing appetite for organic products in the Middle East, and we are responding to this consumer demand with the first of many organic product launches in the region," said Rasmus Malmbak Kjeldsen, senior vice president of Arla’s operations in the Middle East and North Africa.
"As the world’s leading producer of organic dairy products, we look forward to introducing more Middle Eastern consumers to our organic range by adding Arla Organic to our existing portfolio in the region.”
Arla currently sells a range of non-organic dairy products in the region under global brands such as Lurpak, Castello and Puck. The company aims to build its presence further with its Arla brand organic milk and protein milk drink.
