Specialty baked goods company Aryzta has appointed a new general counsel and company secretary of the group.
Rhona O'Brien will start in the position on 11 September 2018, and will also join the group executive committee.
Nearly Two Decades Of Experience
Hailing from Waterford in Ireland, O'Brien is moving to Aryzta from DCCVital Ltd., where she was the senior counsel of legal and compliance in the company's healthcare division.
She is a qualified solicitor with more than 18 years legal and governance experience. She has practiced in England, Ireland and Wales, and trained with Arthur Cox before joining telecommunications company eircom Ltd. in 2007.
In the year 2013, she became general counsel of the company, with responsibility over direct line management as director of the company secretarial, regulatory, public policy, compliance and equivalence functions.
Broadening Expertise
Kevin Toland, the CEO of Aryzta, commented on the appointment, "I am delighted to welcome Rhona to Aryzta and to our executive team."

Aryzta is based in Zurich, Switzerland, with operations in North and South America, Europe, Asia, Australia and New Zealand.
In May, it reduced its profit outlook due to further weakness in Europe, its largest market, despite a managerial revamp. It saw revenue decrease by 6.3% to €1.78 billion in the first half of its financial year.
