Brown-Forman has announced structural changes to its international business unit with the creation of two new divisions, Brown-Forman Europe and Brown-Forman Emerging International.
The Europe Division will comprise of markets in the UK/Ireland; Germany/Czechia; France/Spain/Portugal; Poland; and the greater European markets that constitute developing Europe.
The markets in the Emerging International division will include Global Travel Retail (GTR); Asia; Australia/New Zealand; Latin America; and Russia/CIS/Turkey/India/Middle East and Africa.
The changes will come to effect on 1 August 2020, the company added.
'Simplified Organisational Structure'
Commenting on the restructuring, president and chief executive Lawson Whiting, said, “As we seek to deliver balanced geographic growth with competitive routes to consumers, we must have an agile and simplified organisational structure.”
The Jack Daniel’s parent has named Marshall Farrer as the president of Brown-Forman Europe and Thomas Hinrichs as the president of Brown-Forman Emerging International.
Farrer will join the Executive Leadership Team (ELT) and Hinrichs will continue to serve on the ELT, the company said.
Company Veteran
Hinrichs is a Brown-Forman veteran, who has acquired a deep knowledge of what it takes to drive growth in emerging markets.
He spent 23 years in the company and is valued for his global mindset, strategic focus and commitment to culture and engagement.
Farrer has 22 years’ worth of experience as a proven leader of regions and brands.
Most recently, he was leading the company’s developed APAC and GTR divisions.
