Russian meat producer Cherkizovo Group has posted 7% year-on-year growth in chicken sales volumes, to 175,900 tonnes, in the third quarter of its financial year.
The sales volumes of products under its Petelinka and Chicken Kingdom brands saw year-on-year growth of 4% and 2%, respectively.
The average sales price of chicken declined by 3% during the quarter, to RUB 108.02 per kilogram, compared with the same period last year.
Export sales continued to perform strongly during the quarter, and demand from foodservice clients gradually recovered to reach close to last year’s level, the company added.
Other Divisions
JV Tambov Turkey saw a 8% year-on-year decline in sales volume to 10,200 tonnes.
However, the average sales price increased by 7% compared to the same period in 2019, to RUB 172.25 per kilogram.
Pork sales volumes saw 6% year-on-year growth to 68,400 thousand tonnes, while production volume grew 5% to 69,800 thousand tonnes.
The average sales price of pork increased by 10% year-on-year to RUB 102.74 per kilogram, backed by a slowdown in domestic production and prolonged barbecue season due to good weather.
The company’s meat processing division reported a 4% year-on-year increase in sales volume to 66,250 thousand tonnes.
The average sales price of the segment increased by 6%, driven by an increase in the prices of carcass (+8%) and sausages (5%).
