Coca-Cola GmbH has announced that it has appointed Bjorn Jensen as the new managing director of Coca-Cola Germany, Denmark, and Finland, effective 1 October 2019.
Jensen will succeed Bianca Bourbon, who has been named the vice-president of operations of the Coca-Cola Asia Pacific (APAC) Group.
Most recently, Jensen served as the director of strategy and insights for Coca-Cola Western Europe.
He was responsible for 14 countries including the United Kingdom, France, Spain, Germany, the Benelux region and the Scandinavian countries.
A Seasoned Professional
Jensen is a seasoned professional who began his career with the cola giant in Norway in 1990.
He has held various positions in the company in finance, marketing operations, strategic planning, business development, and general management.
Jensen served as the managing director for Coca-Cola Denmark, the Baltic States, and Russia, before moving to Tokyo in 2002.
Between 2004 to 2007, he was posted in Bangkok to lead the business of Coca-Cola Thailand.
He was then appointed the strategic planning director for the company's ASEAN business unit, where he was responsible for re-franchising the company's bottling business in Singapore and Malaysia and the launch of Coca-Cola in Laos.
In 2010, he took on the role of the executive assistant to the president of the Pacific Group and director of strategic projects in the region.
He was based in Atlanta for this role, and his responsibilities included rebuilding Coca-Cola's business in Myanmar.
In 2013, he returned to Tokyo as the executive vice-president of strategy, insights and business development.
