The Coca-Cola HBC group has been acknowledged as Global Beverage Industry Leader by the Dow Jones Sustainability Indices (DJSI) for the third time, 'for its robust, transparent and consistent sustainability performance'.
The company scored 90 points in the DJSI assessment - three points up from its performance last year and more than 40 points above the industry-average.
Since last year, the company has continued to reduce its environmental footprint, achieving a further decrease in carbon emissions. It also managed to reduce its water-usage per litre of beverage produced and the amount of materials used for packaging, despite an increase in production and sales.
The Coca-Cola HBC group has operations in 28 countries, selling more than 2 billion unit-cases per year (1 unit-case equals around 5.7 ltrs.). It offers a wide range of non-alcoholic beverages, including (sparkling) juice, water, sports drinks, tea and coffee.
The company has reported an €8.2 million investment in sustainable development since 2015, supporting the preservation of the environment and the socio-economic development of communities worldwide.
