Nikos Koumettis has been named as group president overseeing Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) at Coca-Cola.
Koumettis replaces Brian Smith in the role, who has been elected to the position of president and chief operating officer.
Koumettis currently serves as president of the Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) business unit, where he oversees a large territory that includes 26 countries from Russia to Italy. He has worked for Coca-Cola since 2001.
Replacing Koumettis at the helm of this business unit is Lana Popovic, who served as franchise general manager at the reshaped North-East-Europe Franchise Unit, which covers eight markets largely in the CEE region.
Elsewhere, Manuel 'Manolo' Arroyo has been named group president for the Asia Pacific region, while Jennifer Mann, the company’s chief people officer, is to take on additional duties in her role as as president, Global Ventures.
“We have a strong group of experienced operational leaders around the world, and these promotions will strengthen our team,” Brian Smith commented. “I congratulate all of these leaders and look forward to working together as we continue to evolve as a total beverage company.”
All changes will take effect as of 1 January next year.
