French dairy firm Entreprise Laitière de Sauvain, which was bought over by Groupe Casino last year, has opened a revamped production facility, which is to be twice as productive as it was prior to the renovation.
The investment means that its protected-origin Fourme AOP de Montbrison, which represents more than half of its cheese output, will be rolled out across France.
At present, it is only available in its own Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes.
Entreprise Laitière de Sauvain produces approximately 40 per cent of the Fourme AOP de Montbrison produced, DairyReporter.com reports.
A spokesperson for the dairy company commented that Casino’s wide network of stores will assist in giving its SKUs a national presence.
