Italian beverage company Ferrarelle closed 2016 with net sales of about €137 million, which represents a 6% increase year-on-year. The company's sales volumes grew by 5% to 894 million litres.
Following the results, the company, which owns the Ferrarelle, Vitasnella, Fonte Essenziale, Boario, Santagata and Natía brands, has confirmed its position as Italy’s fourth-largest mineral water producer with an 8% share in volume (+5.7%) and 10.3% in value (+7.4%).
All channels saw growth, with Ferrarelle and Natía increasing their market share in the export markets to the UK, Russia, Israel and Malta.
Continued Investment
Speaking to Corriere della Sera, CEO Carlo Pontecorvo said that Ferrarelle is investing a lot in Russia, Israel, the UK and the US, with the goal of repeating the success obtained in Italy on the international market.
In the autumn of 2017, Ferrarelle will open a PET recycling plant in the province of Caserta, in which it is investing €40 million. The goal of the initiative is to reduce the number of PET bottles in circulation, by transforming them into new bottles, further improving the efficiency of the group's production processes and contributing to environmental sustainability.
