Ferrero France has partnered with SPI Logistic to open a new logistics and packaging centre in Saint-Quentin Fallavier, near Lyon.
The new centre was designed by SPI Logitic to meet the requirements of the Ferrero Group concerning the freshness and quality of its products, and to create a more flexible supply chain.
Ferrero says that the centre is equipped with the latest connected technologies, enabling the company to receive real-time information on the operation of its products, and allowing SPI Logistic to control the operating parameters of the site, such as energy consumptions or maintenance of equipment.
It has been equipped with around ten semi-automated and automated lines, to package Ferrero products such as Kinder, Nutella, Tic-Tac, and Ferrero Rocher.
Growth And Modernisation
"This new logistics and packing centre allows us to increase efficiency in the delivery to our customers," said Mohamed Zariouhi, supply chain director of Ferrero France. "We are able to reduce the time between the production of our products and their shelving, to guarantee freshness and quality."
The company says that this facility will be able to better respond to specific packaging requirements that have arisen due to the change in consumption patterns.
"The opening of this new centre is only the first step in a more ambitious plan for modernising Ferrero France to make our supply chain more efficient and to accompany growth over the next few years," added Zariouhi.
