The frozen food giant Findus has received the green light to buy back one of its brands from Nestlé Spain after competition authorities authorised the move.
La Cocinera, the brand in question, is a “key acquisition for the southern European market,” Matthieu Lambeaux, the director general of Findus for the region stated.
The food products are made at Findus's plant in Valladolid, and will be destined for Spain, France and Belgium, he went on to say.
Findus is among the European market-leaders for frozen ready-meals, producing (among other products) lasagne, cannelloni, chicken nuggets, and vegetables.
It has a facility in Boulogne-sur-Mer which specialises in breaded fish products. La Cocinera has been present in Spain’s FMCG market for over 50 years.
