Dutch dairy giant FrieslandCampina has announced the appointment of Hans Janssen as its new chief financial officer (CFO), effective 1 May 2021.
Most recently, Janssen served as the finance chief of the building and infrastructure company, Heijmans.
He began his career at Unilever, where he worked for 17 years in financial and operational roles with increasing responsibility in the Netherlands, the UK, Singapore and Malaysia.
Janssen is an experienced professional who also held the position of CFO at medical care company Mediq for nine years.
'Extensive International Experience'
Commenting on the appointment, Frans Keurentjes, chairman of the supervisory board of Royal FrieslandCampina, said, “We look forward to working with him [Hans Janssen] in the next stage of the company’s transformation.
“Hans [Janssen] has successfully worked in complex and challenging environments and brings extensive international experience to FrieslandCampina.”
Janssen succeeds Jaska de Bakker, who has decided to leave the company this summer to pursue a portfolio of non-executive directorships.
In January 2017, she joined FrieslandCampina in Singapore as finance director.
In the following year, she moved to the company’s head office in Amersfoort in the Netherlands to become group CFO and executive board member.
'Culture Of Transparency'
Keurentjes thanked de Bakker for her service and said, “Jaska [de Bakker] has been instrumental in defining our strategy and transforming FrieslandCampina into a more resilient company.
“She has also built strong finance and IT functions, has driven digital transformation and data analytics, and with that has fostered a culture of transparency and fact-based decision making.”
