Frozen food company iglo has launched a new line of meat-alternatives in Germany under the label Green Cuisine.
The assortment comprises nine SKUs, including four ready meal products.
The pea-based products are designed to help consumers in cutting meat consumption and choosing healthy and eco-friendly food items, the company said.
'An Attractive Offer'
Managing director of iglo Western Europe, Antje Schubert, commented, "With a wide range of frozen products based on vegetable proteins we deliver an attractive offer to consumers.
"Our goal is nothing less than [establishing] a completely new category in the frozen food segment."
The Green Cuisine range offers products that act as an alternative to meat in popular recipes.
Its pea-based mince, pulled BBQ stripes, burger patties, crispy mini schnitzel, and spicy meatballs can be used in preparing various dishes.
In the ready-meal category, Green Cuisine offers lasagna, vegetable bolognese, creamy fusilli in cream sauce with sliced meat, and a 'Chilli Sin Carne'.
