Consumer goods giant Henkel has announced that it has appointed Sylvie Nicol to its management board as executive vice-president of human resources, effective 9 April.
As part of her role, will also be responsible for the company's infrastructure services.
'Experienced Professional'
Nicol is an experienced management professional, the company said, and has been a part of Henkel for more than 20 years.
Presently, she is the corporate senior vice-president of global human resources at the firm, and is responsible for strategic and regional human resources operations.
In 1996, she started her career in the marketing department of the company in the beauty care business unit in France.
She was named the corporate vice-president and general manager of beauty care retail for Henkel in France, in 2010.
In 2013, she moved to Henkel’s headquarters in Düsseldorf, and was responsible for human resources at its beauty care division
'Strong Background'
Commenting on the appointment, Henkel's chief executive, Hans Van Bylen, said, "With her strong background and track record in both our operating business as well as in HR, she knows the company, our markets and employees very well.
Nicol will replace Kathrin Menges, who stepped down from the position due to personal reasons, the company said.
Dr Simone Bagel-Trah, chairwoman of the supervisory board and the shareholders’ committee of Henkel, said, "We would like to thank Kathrin Menges for her many years of outstanding service, commitment, and leadership.
"She has strategically realigned the HR unit and successfully introduced numerous new global HR concepts and programmes."
