Italian coffee producer Illycaffè has been recognised as the overall winner at the country's Best Performance Award 2017 ceremony, according to Il Sole 24 Ore.
The annual prize is awarded by SDA Bocconi School of Management, in partnership with J.P. Morgan Private Bank, PwC, Thomson Reuters, and the Gruppo 24 Ore.
The Best Performance Award is aimed at Italian companies that stand out for excellence in sustainable development, with regard to people, the environment, innovation and economic management.
It is targeted at Italian companies with a turnover of between €25 million and €500 million. A prize is awarded in three categories - small, medium and large companies.
Top Performer
Illycaffè won the overall award, 'Best Performer of the Year', thanks to its financial results, research activities, plans to respond to global environmental challenges, and the evolution of governance.
The awards evaluate 504,000 Italian companies based on empirical data, surveys, interviews and focus groups.
