ISM Marks 50th Anniversary With Record Number Of Exhibitors

ISM, the world's leading trade fair for confectionery and snacks, is marking its 50th edition this year, with a record number of exhibitors set to be in attendance.

This year's event, which takes place in Cologne from 2 to 5 February, will feature 1,750 suppliers from 76 countries; an increase of 6% on the previous edition. In addition, the exhibition space for ISM 2020 will be an impressive 120,000.

It's a far cry from the 351 exhibitors that were present at the first ISM event, back in 1971.

Leading Innovations

At ISM, visitors can learn about the latest trends and innovations, from chocolate and chocolate products, to sweets, biscuits, snacks, through to trend snacks, natural snacks, ice cream, frozen sweets and breakfast snacks.

As well as Germany, which boasts the largest number of exhibitors at ISM, this year's show will also feature numerous country pavilions, with Belgium, Brazil, the People's Republic of China, Denmark, Finland, France, Greece, Great Britain, Hong Kong, Ireland, Italy, Canada, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Austria, Poland, Sweden, Switzerland, Spain, Taiwan, the Czech Republic, Turkey, the Ukraine and the USA all represented.

In addition, ISM welcomes new group participations from Bulgaria, Latvia, Jordan and Russia at the 2020 edition.

Furthermore, ProSweets Cologne, the international supplier fair for the sweets and snacks industry, is being staged in parallel to ISM, and will feature 260 exhibiting companies, ranging from raw materials to packaging and from food safety to manufacturing technology.

#CONNECT2030

For the first time, ISM and ProSweets Cologne are organising a future congress for the sweets and snacks industry, #CONNECT2030.

This event will focus on digital networking, artificial intelligence, smart packaging and a myriad of other areas in which the confectionery and snacking industries can seek to future-proof their operations.
