Italian mineral water brand Acqua Sant’Anna has announced the acquisition of French mineral water producer La Compagnie des Pyrénées (LCDP).
The value of the deal amounts to €50 million, the founder, president, and CEO of the Italian group, Alberto Bertone, told the daily Corriere della Sera. He added that the operation in France “is just the beginning of an acquisition strategy in Europe”.
The acquisition of LCDP, which owns the Eau Neuve brand, marks a strategic move for Acqua Sant’Anna as it aims to expand its international presence and premium product offerings.
The deal will see LCDP founder Sebastien Crussol continuing as a partner and assuming the role of general manager and board member.
The company expects to double the volume of the French plant in the Pyrenees and expand the company's product range, enabling Acqua Sant’Anna to enter the French and European markets, targeting both the large-scale retail trade and the HoReCa channel, according to the report.
