Chinese retailer JD.com has announced that it has agreed a partnership deal with snack firm Pladis Global to bring a new range of snack foods imported from around the world to China.
Pladis, whose mission is to bring 'happiness to the world with every bite', is the parent company of the McVities and Ulker brands, among others
The strategic partnership will include sales, product development and marketing.
JD.com will offer its online customers early access to new snacks and debut new treats exclusively in China, and will also launch special campaigns to boost sales and brand awareness of Pladis products.
The two companies will collaborate to develop new products tailored to the tastes of Chinese consumers.
Ever-Growing Appetite
Widianto Juwono, Greater China/South East Asia/Australia NZ MD, Pladis said, “We are excited to establish the strategic partnership with JD.com, a trusted e-commerce platform in China.
“We believe the partnership will provide a wide selection of snacks to Chinese consumers, including consumer favourites like McVitie’s chocolate digestives and Go Ahead Yogurt Break.”
