American multinational food and beverage company Kraft Heinz Co. has announced that Rashida La Lande will join the company as its new global general counsel and corporate secretary, as of mid-January 2018.
La Lande will head the company’s legal function, including corporate governance and securities, transactions, regulatory, intellectual property, litigation, as well as labour and employment, according to the company.
She currently is a partner at the New York City-based law firm of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher LLP. She has expertise in mergers, acquisition, leveraged buyouts, private equity deals, and joint ventures, according to Kraft Heinz.
Past Experience
La Lande has 18 years of experience representing companies and private equity sponsors in the consumer products, retail, financial services, and technology industries, according to the company.
She received her Juris Doctor from Columbia Law School and her Bachelor of Arts from Harvard College.
La Lande will replace Jim Savina, who has decided to leave Kraft Heinz to pursue other opportunities, the company said. Savina played a key role in the 2015 integration of Kraft Foods Group and H.J. Heinz Company, holding various legal leadership positions during his five-year tenure.
Kraft Heinz is known for established brands such as Kraft, Heinz, Capri Sun, Jell-O and Kool-Aid.
