French cosmetics giant L’Oréal has created a new position – that of deputy CEO – which has been filled by senior executive Nicolas Hieronimus, Reuters has reported.
Hieronimus founded the hair-product brand Fructis in 1993, and then became general manager of the Garnier Maybelline UK arm in 1998. He was subsequently appointed as international general manager for L'Oréal Paris, he oversaw the development of Dermo Expertise, Solar Expertise, and Men Expert.
In 2008, he was named General Manager of the L’Oréal Professional Products, and then in 2011 president of L’Oréal Luxe, occupying simultaneously from 2013 the additional role of Selective Divisions, which is comprised of including Luxury, Active Cosmetics, Professional Products, and The Body Shop.
Last week, L'Oréal reported an increase in its first quarter sales by 4.2% on a like-for-like basis to reach just over €7 billion.
