'Made In Italy' Takes Centre Stage At FMI Connect 2015

The Italian Trade Agency (ITA) has announced that it will introduce a new public education campaign this October in the US, highlighting the benefits and value of high-quality 'Made in Italy' food and beverage products.

The announcement was made at the FMI Connect 2015 event in Chicago, taking place this week.

Italy is the first nation ever to be named 'Host Country' at FMI Connect, where the ITA is showcasing more than 50 authentic Italian food and beverage manufacturers to retailers representing every major US market.

An extensive Italian pavilion at the event features suppliers including pizza manufacturer Roncadin, gourmet food producer Campo D'Oro, dried fruit and nuts supplier Noberasco,  fish supplier Cesare Regnoli & Figlio, private-label specialists Industrie Rolli Alimentari, and dairy firm Sterilgarda Alimenti, among others.

Beginning this autumn, a nationwide public awareness campaign will focus on product education, informing consumers and retailers about the best-tasting, highest-quality ingredients and manufacturing traditions of authentic 'Made in Italy' products.

The creative aspect will include print and online advertising, in-store support, such as shelf-talkers, end-cap displays, couponing, digital promotions, recipes and sampling, and events featuring top Italian chefs. Furthermore, in-store promotions are planned at retailers within four key states, including California, Texas, Illinois, and New York.

Also catching the eye at this year's FMI Connect are industry giants such as SAP, IBM, ConAgra Foods, CHEP, Kraft Foods, Unilever and Kellogg's.

FMI Connect runs until Thursday 11 June at McCormick Place (South Hall) in Chicago. Further information is available at www.fmiconnect.net.
