Maina Sees 30% Growth In Panettone Exports

Italian confectionery company Maina has exported over 4.2 million Christmas panettone cakes in 2017, representing a growth of more than 30% compared to last year.

Sales of the traditional cake account for approximately 15% of the company’s total turnover, reports La Stampa.

The company is present in over 40 countries worldwide, but says that this growth is largely due to strong demand in foreign markets such as the UK, the US, Canada and Mexico.

International Growth

Maina produces over 21 million traditional festive cakes per year, including panettone, pandoro and colomba. In its international business, the company has also developed new products to adapt to the different tastes and consumption habits of the local markets.

Last year Maina saw record growth, with a 35% increase in sales of holiday cakes, thanks to new contracts in the US, Mexico and Canada.
