The managing director of grocery shopping website mySupermarket.co.uk, Kim Ludlow, has joined leading product-content provider Brandbank, to help fine-tune the group’s online FMCG marketing.
Brandbank specialises in providing FMCG firms and retailers with images and information – such as a product’s size, weight and nutritional content etc. - they need for efficient online trading.
At Brandbank, Ludlow is to oversee the digital and business innovations and assist retailers in their e-commerce practice – thereby helping them to understand and meet the needs of online shoppers.
“Consumers now demand a richer experience when it comes to products online, such as serving suggestions, alternative ingredients and different usage ideas,” said Kim Ludlow, pointing out that although three-quarters of British households have bought groceries online, online sales still only account for 6% of grocery sales overall.
“The key to growing grocery e-commerce is to get the virtual online experience as close to the in-store one as possible.”
