Global food giant Mars has named Bill Heague as the new general manager for its operations in Ireland, succeeding John Pickering.
Heague has worked at Mars for over ten years, with roles in sales, marketing and category management, and previously led teams in Mars Food Australia, and Mars Czech Republic and Slovakia.
"Having worked in diverse markets, I know I can bring a lot of value to our customers as well as a fresh approach to my colleagues," said Heague.
"I’m particularly interested in ensuring the Mars Ireland business is taking its place on the international stage to ensure sustainability and healthy eating targets are met."
Mars produces a range of brands across the chocolate, confectionery, and pet care categories, including M&M's, Galaxy, Skittles, Pedigree, Whiskas, and Uncle Bens.
The company's Irish business employs 90 people, and reported turnover of around €137 million in 2016.
