Mars Wrigley Appoints New Chief Procurement Officer

Mars Wrigley has announced the appointment of Julia M Brown as its new chief procurement officer.

She will be responsible for the global procurement strategy for brands such as M&M’s, Snickers, Extra/Orbit, Twix, Altoids, Starburst, and Skittles.

She will also oversee Mars Wrigley’s relationships with the supplier community to improve supplier diversity and build the connected and sustainable treating and snacking business of tomorrow, the company added.

This will include accelerating efforts around sustainable sourcing initiatives to advance Mars’ $1 billion ‘Sustainable in a Generation’ plan and $1 billion ‘Cocoa for Generations’ strategy.

A Seasoned Professional

Brown is a seasoned professional with nearly 30 years’ worth of experience in the consumer products and hospitality industry.

Most recently, she served as the chief procurement officer Carnival Corporation & plc.

In her five-year tenure with the company, she was responsible for overseeing global strategic sourcing and supply chain.

Previously, she held the same position in Mondelēz, Kraft Foods, and Clorox. She has also worked for Procter & Gamble, Diageo and Gillette.
