Potato products manufacturer McCain Foods has announced plans to expand capacity at its production facility in Coaldale, Alberta, Canada.
The Coaldale facility, which opened in 2000, is seen by the company as 'a key plant within the McCain North American supply network', and employs more than 200 workers.
Additional Capacity
The expansion of the facility, which will be completed by this autumn, will 'bring additional production capacity to the french fry manufacturing facility, helping to meet continued strong demand for McCain products in the company’s domestic and international markets', the company said.
It will follow infrastructure investments in the US, United Kingdom, Australia, France, Belgium, Argentina, Colombia and India which have taken place over the past 18 months.
New Opportunities
“We’re actively evaluating new opportunities to invest in our network as our global volumes increase”, said McCain Foods president and CEO Dirk Van de Put.
“Over the last 18 months, we’ve confirmed investments of more than $1 billion to add capacity, including investments in infrastructure, technology and capabilities, across the full range of McCain products”.
