Spanish supermarket chain Mercadona has announced a new partnership with McDonald’s that will see the fast food restaurant’s tomato ketchup hit the retailer’s shelves.
As reported by eleconomista.es, the sauce, which is produced by German company Develey and follows the original McDonald's recipe, including the use of ’19 tomatoes matured under the sun’, without any preservatives added. The product is also gluten free.
The ketchup will be available both in-store and online and is priced €1.35 for a 450 gr bottle. It is bright red with yellow caps and features both the McDonald's logo and the ‘I’m Lovin' It’ slogan.
The sauce is not, however, the same that McDonald's offers in its restaurants in Spain, with the chain’s ketchup now supplied by Helios.
