Olaf Koch, chairman of the management board of Metro Group (pictured), and Ian Cook, CEO of Colgate-Palmolive, have been named the new co-chairs of the Consumer Goods Forum (CGF), for a period of two years.
The duo was unveiled at the Consumer Goods Forum Global Summit, taking place in Berlin until Friday. ESM: European Supermarket Magazine is a media partner of the event, and it will be reporting from Germany over the three days of proceedings.
Koch, who will chair the Retailer College, and Cook, who will chair the Manufacturer College of the Consumer Goods Forum board, replace outgoing co-chairs Denise Morrison of Campbell's Soup and Gareth Ackerman, chairman of Pick n Pay.

“As the consumer industry continues to face its biggest disruption for decades, the CGF becomes ever more important in these pivotal times,” Koch commented on his appointment.
“Only through commitment and collaboration can we expect our industry to drive positive change and create long-term, sustainable business growth. I am, therefore, delighted to have been elected co-chair of the CGF’s board of directors and would like thank to my fellow board members. I look forward to co-leading the ambitious work we have set ourselves and in helping secure the future of our planet, our people, and our businesses.”
In addition, Emmanuel Faber, CEO of Danone, and Ömer Özgür Tort, CEO of Migros Group, have been appointed as vice co-chairs of the CGF board.
