Nestlé has announced the launch of Nesquik All Natural cocoa powder, which will be available in France, Germany, Italy, Portugal, and Spain in the coming weeks.
The new SKU is an addition to the existing Nesquik range, and will be rolled out in other European markets in the future.
New Product Composition
The new cocoa powder comprises simplified, natural ingredients, with more cocoa, that gives it a rich taste, Nestlé said in its statement.
It will also contain less sugar than other Nesquik products, and will be developed from cane sugar instead of processed white sugar.
Cocoa used in the new range is responsibly sourced from West Africa under the Nestlé Cocoa Plan.
Recyclable Packaging
The product is packed in pouches made of recyclable coated paper sourced from sustainable sources that are certified by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC).
Yasser AbdulMalak, head of the dairy category for Europe, Middle East, and North Africa at Nestlé, said, "The recyclable paper pouch is the first of its kind, one of our key initiatives towards providing more sustainable packaging across our product portfolio.
Moving from plastic to paper is a big challenge, but an important step in designing the food packaging of the future."
The launch of the new Nesquik comes less than two months after Nestlé committed to accelerating action regarding plastic waste.
Nesquik All Natural is being produced in Nestlé’s factory in Szerencs in Hungary, which is one of the company’s foremost factories for powdered drinks.
