Nestlé has announced that its Health Science division has acquired Persona, a Seattle-based personalised nutrition business.
Founded in 2017, Persona is one of the leading names in personalised health supplements.
It takes into account specific factors like lifestyle, history and individual needs when prescribing nutritional supplements.
The brand will operate under Nestlé Health Science's USA-based Atrium Professional Brands, the food giant said.
'A New Dimension'
Chief executive of Nestlé Health Science, Greg Behar, said, "Persona’s expertise in personalised nutrition brings a new dimension to the growing Nestlé Health Science portfolio.
"There’s increasing interest in personalisation among consumers and with this acquisition, we will bring together the technology of Persona and the trusted Atrium Professional Brands’ vitamins and supplements," he added.
Persona assesses nutritional requirements through an algorithm based on thousands of research studies and the expertise of the company’s medical advisory board.
The acquisition will allow healthcare professionals in Atrium Professional Brands’ longstanding network to offer better health supplement recommendations to their patients and customers.
