Nestlé has been included in the 2019 Bloomberg Gender-Equality Index, which seeks to distinguish companies committed to transparency in gender reporting and advancing women's equality.
The food giant has unveiled a number of initiatives in recent years in an effort to close the gender pay gap, including flexible working options, childcare support, unconscious bias and gender training as well as mentoring and coaching for women.
"I am pleased to see that Nestlé is part of the Bloomberg Gender-Equality Index," commented Béatrice Guillaume-Grabisch, chief human resources officer at Nestlé.
Important Cause
"Gender equality is a cause that is important to me and which I am wholeheartedly committed to. Together with the support of all women and men of all generations we will create the society we want in the future – more inclusive, innovative, empowering, collaborative and agile."
Bloomberg's reporting framework offers public companies a platform on which to indicate how they promote gender equality across four separate areas – company statistics, policies, community engagement and products and services. Firms that score at the upper end of this framework are included in the Index.
“Nestlé’s GEI inclusion is a strong indicator to its employees, investors and industry peers alike that it is leading by example to advance ongoing efforts for a truly inclusive workplace," commented Peter T. Grauer, Bloomberg chairman.
