The Nestlé Waters unit of Nestlé (Thai) Ltd. has opened its second manufacturing and distribution centre for Nestlé Pure Life bottled water in the Thai province of Surat Thani.
It will be responsible for the distribution of 0.33L, 0.6L, and 1.5L sizes to 14 southern provinces and throughout Thailand.
Audrey Liow, chairwoman and CEO for Nestlé Indochina, said, "We are committed to enhancing quality of life and contributing to a healthier future for Thai people.
"For over 20 years, Nestlé Waters’ business operations in Thailand have produced high-quality drinking water that meets Nestlé’s global standards to satisfy Thai consumers’ demands for water they can trust for themselves and their families."
The factory required an investment of 1.8 billion baht (€48.8 million) and is 170,000 square metres including production, warehouse, office, and utility areas.
The facility uses vibratory shear enhanced membrane processing (VSEP), which increases water recovery while reducing consumption in the production process.
The second distribution hub will shorten transport length by 3 million kilometres per year, the company said.

Nestlé originally entered the Thai market in 1893. Its division there manufactures and distributes 40 brands of food and beverage items.
Nestlé Waters products in the country include Minéré mineral water, Perrier sparkling mineral and flavoured water, and Vittel mineral water.
The company said it focuses on community relationships and on educating citizens, by creating awareness about water resources and PET recycling.
