Sharon Walsh has been appointed as the new Global Director for Heineken's Cider operations. She will be responsible for developing strategies to aid Heineken's global expansion in the cider market and models for brand-innovation. She will be based in Amsterdam.
She joined Heineken Ireland in 2011 and was appointed as its Marketing Director in 2012. Acknowledged as a leading marketing expert by the Marketing Institute of Ireland in 2015, her team received the ‘Irish Marketing Team of the Year 2016’ award. She was involved in the addition of the Desperados, Heineken® Light and Cute Hoor brands to Heineken's portfolio and behind the launch of Orchard Thieves in 2015, which brand now occupies a large share of the Irish cider market and has started to conquer the rest of Europe.
Sharon Walsh said: "Heineken Ireland has been an incredibly exciting company to work for – a company whose culture of innovation and collaboration has allowed our team to really flourish and positively impact the company’s performance. (...) I look forward to bringing that spirit of innovation, ambition and bravery to Amsterdam."
