Frozen food manufacturer Nomad Foods is reportedly in talks to acquire Goodfella's Pizza for around £200 million, according to the Financial Times.
The deal would see Nomad add the frozen pizza business to its portfolio, which includes brands such as Bird's Eye, Iglo and Findus.
Last month the frozen food group reported revenue of €459 million in the third quarter of its financial year, representing growth of 4.4%.
Goodfella's is currently owned by UK manufacturing giant 2 Sisters Food Group, which produces the pizzas at facilities in Naas and Longford in Ireland.
Yesterday, 2 Sisters announced plans to share all of the audit and inspection data from its plants, in an effort to increase transparency in the food supply chain, following a number of food-safety allegations.
The group is the UK’s second-largest food company by turnover, operating 12 production sites in the country, with brands such as Fox's Biscuits, Donegal Catch, and Green Isle frozen foods.
