Beverage and snack-food giant PepsiCo has announced that Mike Spanos will become the group's new chief executive for Asia, the Middle East and North Africa.
Spanos, who is currently president of PepsiCo's greater China region, is set to step into the new position in the first quarter of 2018, replacing Sanjeev Chadha.
"We have a strong bench of senior executives, and we are thrilled to promote Mike, one of our most seasoned and proven leaders, into this important role," said Indra Nooyi, CEO of PepsiCo.
"Most recently, Mike has led our business in China through unprecedented change, growing our foods and beverage businesses and investing in our nutrition portfolio."
Spanos has worked at PepsiCo for 24 years, holding a number of senior positions in the US, Europe and Asia.
He will be succeeded as the head of the company's China unit by Ram Krishnan.
