As part of its sustainability drive, Pernod Ricard India has launched PR Kriti, an initiative for environmental management.
For Pernod Ricard's first initiative on the platform of water conservation, the company has built four watershed structures at Phangi in Rajahstan. This would conserve about 32 000 cubic metres of water and also rejuvenate all the nearby dry wells.
The saved water will help the sustainable development of four villages in the water-scarce region of Phangi.
In Maharashtra, similar structures have been built. Rainwater tanks, covering an area of 80,000 square metres, should help harvesting areas of about 4,500 hectares as well as domestic purposes.
