Croatian supplier PIK Vrbovec has launched a new campaign, 'Less Is More - Reduction of Salt', under which the company will offer meat products with a 25% reduction in salt.
The producer is the first in Croatia to adhere to the guidelines of the World Health Organisation and the Republic of Croatia’s aim to reduce excessive salt intake.
PIK Vrbovec’s new range of reduced salt meat products comes as a result of two years of intensive product development. The various meat categories, now containing 25% less salt include: Hams, Mortadellas, Dry Salami, Frankfurters and Sausages.
Ines Bertinovec, the R&D director of PIK Vrbovec stated: “After the project Less is more was presented to the consumers, which guarantees that the products under the PIK brand contain no flavour enhancers, no artificial colours, no gluten and no soy, PIK Vrbovec decided to go a step further, so we are also the first in Croatia to reduce the salt content in meat products."
