Premier Foods has announced the appointment of Tim Elliott and Helen Jones as independent non-executive directors of the company, effective immediately.
Elliott and Jones will join the audit, remuneration and nomination committees, the company added.
Elliott has almost 40 years’ worth of experience in investment banking and corporate finance with deep knowledge in capital markets.
Presently, he serves as a non-executive director and audit committee chair of CPP Group plc.
Prior to this, he was the managing director at Barclays Capital and JP Morgan before taking on the role of a partner and consultant at KPMG.
He also served as an advisor to a wide range of companies, particularly those in the consumer and retail sectors.
'Highly Relevant Experience'
Commenting on the appointments, chairman, Colin Day, said, “Both candidates bring a wealth of highly relevant experience in their respective fields and have displayed a strong passion for Premier Foods' ongoing success.
“I look forward to their contributions as we continue on our path to future value creation."
Jones is an experienced professional in commercial and general management.
In her 35-year-old career, she served as the managing director of Zizzi restaurants before assuming the role of executive director of Caffe Nero Group Ltd.
Before this, she spent nine years at Unilever and was responsible for launching Ben & Jerry's brand in the UK and Europe, following which she was appointed as the brand development director Europe for Ben & Jerry's Homemade Inc.
Presently, Jones is a non-executive director at Halfords plc and also serves on the Board of Fuller, Smith & Turner plc.
She is also a non-executive director of the German listed casual dining chain, Vapiano SE.
She is scheduled to step down from this role by 30 June 2020, Premier Foods added.
