Personal healthcare products and consumer goods manufacturer PZ Cussons released a trading update this week, which stated that its recent group performance is in line with expectations.
The news comes ahead of the manufacturer's full-year trading results being released for the period ended 31 May.
The St Tropez beauty brand performed well in the UK and in the US.
Brands under its UK washing and bathing categories performed well with the introduction of a renovation and innovation programme.
Imperial Leather performed well following the relaunch of the product range. Meanwhile, the Carex range of Fun Edition hand wash products for junious also performed well with expansions in wipes and gels lines.
Performance in Poland and Greece were in line with expectations, according to the group.
“Whilst trading conditions in most markets remain challenging, the group remains focussed on delivering its dynamic brand renovation and innovation programme in conjunction with an ongoing cost reduction programme,” said the group.
“In the group's largest market Nigeria, whilst the naira is currently stable there remains a risk of further currency devaluation. The market is currently adjusting relative pricing and consumer spending power is likely to be impacted in the short-term by the imported inflation.”
