Finland's Raisio Group, which produces the Benecol range of products, has reported a 6% sales increase in the third quarter of the year.
In particular, the company says it benefited from good sales development of consumer products in Finland, and increased deliveries to licensing partners, especially in Asia.
Higher market prices in sterols, raw materials and the currency impact of the weakening pound were offset by price increases.
Outlook
Raisio reported EBIT of €13 million for the period, which it describes as a "reasonable performance" in the current market.
In the future, it says that it seeks further growth, particularly in the Benecol and healthy food businesses.
"Raisio's agile product and brand development, and expansion to new markets and product categories enable organic growth," said Pekka Kuusniemi, the newly-appointed CEO of Raisio.
Kuusniemi began his new role as president and CEO on 1 November, saying that he will promote profitable growth in line with the group's strategy in Finland and abroad.
"Raisio will also grow through acquisitions,” he added.
