As celebrating holidays such as Valentine’s Day become increasing popular with European shoppers, offering a good selection of quality, yet reasonably-priced pampering gift sets is vital for retailers to keep up with the market and retain a competitive advantage, says James Bell, marketing manager at personal care gift set manufacturer Badgequo.
Alongside the more traditional Valentine's offerings of sparking wine, chocolates and flowers, grocery retailers selling high-quality, competitively-priced personal care gift sets, showcased in attractive packaging, are set to reap the rewards of having extended this category range as time-conscious consumers stock up on Valentine's treats for loved ones alongside their grocery shop.
Badgequo design, produce and distribute high-quality cosmetics and toiletries to major retailers across Europe. The on-trend products are produced under its flagship brands Technic and Body Collection as well as a number of subsidiary brands. Badgequo also provide an extensive range of private-label services containing a selection of cosmetic products, toiletries and accessories.
The company's products can be found on the shelves of many leading European supermarket and hypermarkets - supplying its gift and core ranges to Edeka, Kaufland Warenhandel, Globus SB-Warenhaus, WEKA Kaufhaus, Georg Kaes (V-Markt), Provera Cora, Maximo, Auchan, Monoprix, Eroski and Simply.
"Our 10 individual ranges possess their own unique features and characteristics," says Bell. This allow them to have an incredibly wide appeal to a number of target demographics across Europe, he explains. "Our gift offering has been incredibly well received with a very high sell-through rate."
Vintage Bouquet & Lavender by Body Collection are two popular gift ranges. The Vintage Bouquet cosmetic and toiletry sets includes the eye-catching Birdcage set, Hand & Foot Heaven and Timeless Hand Duo, all in pretty vintage-inspired floral patterns, appealing to a wide range of ages.
The Body Collection Lavender & Sweet Pea Pamper Time indulgent toiletries set includes generously-sized scented shower gel and body lotion in attractive boxed packaging. "We have just launched our 2016 gift range and are presenting them to major retailers over the coming months."
Based at its UK head quarters, Badgequo's in-house design team work hard to ensure that the gift items are fresh, exciting and on-trend.
"Our design team is dedicated to monitoring and keeping up-to-date with successful trends and designs within the industry. They also pay close attention to the success of our own products, and are constantly reassessing and refreshing our designs to ensure that our ranges stay fresh, relevant and desirable.
Housing its own design team is very important to the company as it offers the opportunity to work closely alongside new product development managers to produce beautiful designs, which are truly representative of its brands and values.
Badgequo's UK office is also supported by an office in Germany, opened in April 2011, to expand the company’s overall European presence.
"The gift market is incredibly competitive, meaning it’s increasingly important to ensure that products are kept relevant and exciting without compromising quality. When matched with a high standard of customer service, this is a winning formula," he says.
