Mondel?z has appointed Roberto Marques to run its operations in North America.
He joins the multinational confectionery company from Johnson & Johnson, where he was group chairman of its North American consumer division.
Marques will report to Mondel?z CEO Irene Rosenfeld, who said that the new appointee "will play a critical role in driving our growth and margin-expansion agendas."
The company has been working to achieve a more financially streamlined condition of late, most recently proposing a sale of the Carte Noire brand.
Mondel?z International's fourth-quarter profits plummeted by 72 per cent on the same period last year.
Speaking of the appointment, Marques said "I'm thrilled to help Mondel?z International grow its portfolio of iconic brands. I look forward to partnering with Irene and the rest of her leadership team to shape the future of the North American business and of Mondel?z International."
