The curtain has closed on SIAL Paris 2016, and visitor data indicates that more than 155,000 visitors, 70% of whom hailed from overseas, passed through the doors of the show over the five days of the event, which took place last week in Paris.
Around 7,000 exhibitors took part in this year's event, which played host to no fewer than 250 events 'within' the event, as well as the SIAL Innovation Awards, which this year featured 2,189 candidates, and World Tour By SIAL Awards.
Thanks to the guidance of its partners, Fancy Food Show, XTC World Innovation, Kantar TNS, and the 28 World Tour partners, the SIAL Innovation programme has reinforced the legitimacy and expertise of SIAL in terms of perspective and foresight.
“The profile of our national and international visitors is proof of the quality of our offer," said Nicolas Trentesaux, director of the SIAL network. "We are very proud to say that all of SIAL’s participants – both exhibitors and visitors – have, once again, helped us to turn this fair into a major international event for agribusiness."
Among the notable events that took place over the five days of the show was an event to mark World Food Day, on 16 October, which saw the hosting of a conference, Sustainable Food and Innovation, at the Quai d’Orsay, in Paris.
