Personal care company Beiersdorf, the maker of skincare products such as Nivea, has appointed Dessi Temperley to the role of CFO, effective 1 July 2018.
Temperley, 45, was formerly the head of investor relations for the Nestlé Group and worked with the multinational since 2004. She will take over from Jesper Anderson, who will be completing his term by the end of June, the company said.
"Broad financial expertise"
“We welcome Dessi Temperley to our management team. We are confident that with her broad financial expertise she will contribute substantially to further advancing Beiersdorf’s success and growth,” said Stefan F. Heidenreich, CEO of Beiersdorf AG.
Temperley began her career in 1994 with Shell Bulgaria, before spending several years with Cable & Wireless plc in London and Moscow.
She studied economics at the American University in Bulgaria, later receiving her MBA from Henley Business School in the UK. In addition, she is a UK chartered management accountant.
The personal care group posted an organic group sales growth of 5.7% in 2017, to €7.056 billion, despite a cyber attack in June 2017.
