SmileyWorld is continuing its roll out of unique experiential activations for 2018, with the launch of a Smiley concept pop-up café in the middle of Hong Kong’s iconic Langham Place shopping centre in Mong Kok.
The new boutique and café concept was unveiled a recent VIP event packed with industry leaders, and officially opened by Smiley chief executive Nicolas Loufrani.
The deal to open the new Smiley Café experience was brokered by Smiley’s APAC partner Walton Brown, and formed part of the launch of eGG Opticals' new store in the shopping centre.
To complement the launch, a range of Smiley-themed activities was also unveiled, including a Smiley phone case and accessory customisation station, and a unique pancake printing area, where customers' photos could be turned into tasty, edible pancakes.
Alongside the range of Smiley-themed food, was a full range of Smiley home and kitchenware products to create a themed consumer activation, as Smiley chefs whipped up a range of delicious food.
The Smiley eGG Café is planned to run all the way through to June 2019.
Growth Potential
“Food is one of the growth areas of our business today, and it’s great that Walton Brown have helped to bring our café concept to life in one of Hong Kong’s leading destination retail environments," commented Smiley CEO Nicolas Loufrani.
"It also gives us a unique opportunity to showcase our home and kitchen concepts and licensees products, which is another area for growth for 2018. I’m really grateful for the work of Steve Wong and all the team at Walton Brown for making this happen and very pleased to have been here to see it for myself.”
