Portuguese vegetable snack company Snood Foods is planning to expand its presence in the retail channel, both in Portugal and further afield.

The company was set up last year, in an attempt to boost vegetable consumption by Portuguese consumers.
Snood Foods' Bean'Go product line, made entirely in Portugal, consists of four SKUs – chickpeas with salt, peas with salt, beans with mango and bell pepper, and chickpeas with tomatoes and oregano, all in 25 gram packs.
Promising Start
Snood Foods bas so far not published any sales figures, but admits it sold around 50,000 units during the first months of its launch in Pingo Doce stores.
According to CEO Alexandre Santos, there is great demand for this kind of snacks and the company has announced plans to both expand its product line and launch in other markets.
Other potential markets include France, Germany and UK, where a “large part of the population is open to this kind of products”, claims Santos.
