Spanish consumers spend on average €139 a year on cosmetics; about 15 per cent more than the European average of €120, according to figures from the Spanish National Association of Perfume and Cosmetics.
As reported on europapress.es, the country is also a big seller of perfume and cosmetic products, with yearly exports valued at around €3,270 million.
Mireira Trepat of Freshly Cosmetics said that "Spain is the fourth largest country in the EU regarding investment in perfume and cosmetic products."
She considers that natural cosmetics made without chemical ingredients are a growing trend and are "becoming more and more fashionable."
